RES provides a range of fire protection services for the education sector across the South of England.

Education

RES serves a variety of sizes of educational customers from small pre-schools to large six form colleges. We understand the need of education establishments to minimise disruption to learning by scheduling works around term times where possible and by creating safe, controlled and phased works on live sites. Also, the importance of keeping complete control of schedules, budgets and compliance for our education sector customers, regardless of the size of the premises.

There are stringent rules in place for premises which can be found in various legislation such as Building Regulations and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as well as British Standards and specific premises related guidance documents.

There are five main actions you need to take:

  1. Undertake and regularly review the premises Fire Risk Assessment.
  2. Install the necessary fire safety systems, equipment and measures.
  3. Train staff (and or provided information to occupiers) on the prevention of fire and in the premises fire procedures.
  4. Service and maintain all fire safety systems, equipment and measures at the relevant intervals to current British Standards.
  5. Keep a record of all of the premises fire safety related information and maintain a fire logbook for the premises.

Whether you are planning to renovate an existing learning space, have remedial works to complete in communal spaces or are building new educational facilities that you need to incorporate into your overall fire system network, RES has the expertise to advise and deliver the right fire protection engineering solutions.
