RES Systems Ltd (RES) takes your privacy very seriously. We ask that you read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information about what to expect when RES collects and holds personal information about you and how we will use your personal data to provide our services.

European Law on data protection

In addition to The Data Protection Act 1998, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation came in to force on the 25th May 2018. The GDPR regulates the processing of personal data and protects the rights and privacy of all living individuals (including children), for example by giving all individuals who are the subject of personal data a general right of access to the personal data which relates to them. Individuals can exercise the right to gain access to their information by means of a ‘subject access request’. Personal data is information relating to an individual and may be in hard or soft copy (paper/manual files; electronic records; photographs; CCTV images) and may include facts or opinions about a person.

This privacy policy covers the following information:

 

  1. The information we collect about you

When you do business with us and request our services or our newsletter we collect the following personal information from you: Name. Contact information as follows; postal address, email address, telephone number. Credit or debit card payment information is taken at the time of transaction but no data is kept. Occasionally we may receive information about you from other sources (such as credit reference agencies) which we will add to the information which we already hold about you in order to help us provide goods and services to you.

  1. How we will use the information about you

We gather this information to allow us to process your entry on to our systems, process the orders you may make so we can provide the services and or goods requested. The relevant information is then used by us to provide you with statements of your account and to communicate with you on any matter relating to the conduct of your account and the provision of the services in general. If you agree, we may also contact you about other products and services we think may be of interest to you.

We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us to develop our website and our services. We may also provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you.

From time to time we may provide your information to our approved sub-contractors who may contact you by email or telephone concerning a service visit and or a quotation that has been requested.

We have in place security procedures and technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information in order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. We will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information. However, you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal information which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. Please note that requests for information may be subject to payment of a fee which covers our costs in providing the information requested.

We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. If any of the information that you have provided RES changes, for example if you change your email address, name or payment details, or if you wish to cancel the services provided, please let us know the correct details by contacting us as above.

  1. Use of cookies and other information-gathering technologies

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information. The information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity which helps to improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs providing you with a better website experience. Our website contains links to other websites. This privacy policy only applies to this website so when you link to other websites you should read their own privacy policies

  1. Premises CCTV

There is a CCTV system operating within RES premises for the purpose of protecting members of staff and property. RES will only process personal data obtained by the CCTV system in a manner which ensures compliance with the legislation.

By providing RES with your personal information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy.

This policy will be reviewed and updated as necessary to reflect best practice or future amendments made to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) May 2018 and Data Protection Act 1998.

As you know doubt are aware, the new European law on data protection, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP) came into effect from Friday 25th May 2018. This means that all businesses who hold personal data are required to provide specific information about how they handle, process and store such information.

At RES we are committed to safeguarding and preserving your privacy concerning the information provided when interacting with us, whether it is online (email or website) by phone or post.

Keeping your companies and or personal data safe and secure has always been and will continue to be our top priority. To take into account the new requirements arising from the GDRP we have reviewed and updated our Privacy Policy and all procedures associated with data we hold to facilitate the services we provide to our customers.
