Established in 1985, Reading Extinguisher Services (RES) from initially servicing and maintaining portable fire protection and fire brigade equipment, expanded into fire safety systems and measures protecting people and property.

Right from RES’s early years, our services have been developed and steadily grown from our company’s commitment to a BS EN ISO 9001 quality management system.
RES prides itself on continually striving to make complying with British Standards as straight forward and practical as possible for all of our customers needs whilst minimising costs. We pride ourselves on being able to develop fire safety solutions for our customers from start to finish.
Our commitment to the quality of our workmanship and customer confidence in the services now provided is demonstrated by the fire industry memberships we hold, such as FIA, BFC, FPA and the third-party accreditations we have achieved such as with BAFE schemes, the BSI Kitemark, and CHAS, as well as being certified with the BMTRADA Q-Mark scheme.
RES are also authorised distributors and installers of several leading UK fire safety equipment and product manufacturers.

Qualified Professional Service
As well as a dedicated office administration team, our directors, fire engineers and technicians comprised of a highly trained, highly skilled, and experienced team of committed individuals across all our inspection, service and maintenance capabilities. Three engineers are members of the IFSM and industry specific training as well as regular CPD is undertaken.
RES can design, supply, install and commission a wide range of fire safety systems and measures protecting people and property in a range of sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Hotels & Leisure, Offices, Residential, Retail and Manufacturing.
Who's Who
RES is comprised of a highly trained, highly skilled and experienced team of committed individuals.
Our office team is led by Kate Freeman-Wilson (Office Manager) with Denise Lynch (Deputy Office Manager), Jess Knight (Accounts), Lisa Oakham and Sam Absolom, (Office administration). Richard Lawrence is responsible for IT, business development, and marketing.
Our service team, led by Johnny Adey (Client manager) and Mark Froude (Service manager) is supported by John Day (Sales Manager) and engineers Damian Lynch, Chris Dormer, Nick Wilson, Jamie Froude, Matthew Woodward, Ryan Stevens, Tony Hampton, Lee Baldwin and Stephen Jansen. Our engineers specialise in fire safety signage, fire hydrants, extinguishing systems and fire alarm systems or are BAFE registered fire extinguisher technicians, several of who are dual engineers covering both alarms and extinguishers.
Our technical team is led by Will Grice (Installation Manager) supported by Jon Toomey (Technical Director) and engineers Andy Lowe, Mike Skilton (Minor Works Supervisor), Jack Ansell, James Hill (Passive Works Supervisor), and Ben Walmsley. Our engineers and technicians specialise in installations, minor works, emergency lighting, smoke control systems and AOV’s, fire door inspections and maintenance, installation of fire door and doorsets and penetration sealing systems – fire stopping.
Additional services such as Fire safety consultancy services are provided by Stephen Flint and our consultants with Steve Crawford providing dry riser testing and fire safety training services.
