Experienced Fire Alarm Technician

We are seeking an experienced fire detection and alarm systems service and maintenance technician looking for a new career opportunity.

Come and join a successful and well-established Fire Protection Company – RES Systems Ltd centrally based in the south of the UK.

Hours of work: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Overtime available.

Location: Primarily the counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Middlesex, Essex and Kent and London.

Salary: Dependant on experience.

Benefits: Company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, uniform, and all necessary tools. A company pension scheme and private healthcare is in operation. Four weeks annual leave (plus bank holidays).

Role Responsibilities:

– Service and maintenance of conventional and addressable systems and modification works to relevant British Standards and guidance documents.

– You will be required to undertake commissioning, small works, emergency light testing and repairs for a wide variety of sites such as residential buildings, schools, and commercial premises.

– You will be required to deal with call outs on a rota basis and out of hours work.

– Ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are in place and adhered to.

– Completion of mandatory paperwork via a customer management system.

The successful candidate:

– You will be able demonstrate recent relevant experience of fire alarm systems.

– Proven knowledge on relevant fire industry British Standards.

– Pass enhanced security checks required by our clients.

– Hold a full and clean UK driving licence.

– Undergo regular CPD and training.

Trainee Fire Protection Engineer
We are currently seeking a trainee Fire Protection Engineer to join our successful team based in Reading, Berkshire, UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual wishing to develop a career in the fire safety industry.

As part of our trainee program, you will receive in house experience and training on portable fire extinguishers and undertake an accredited training course. Future opportunities will be made available in the areas of fire detection and alarms – servicing, installation, and commissioning and or passive fire works such as fire stopping and fire doors.

 

You will initially work alongside senior engineers on customer site visits (South UK) gaining first-hand experience in portable fire equipment servicing and maintenance. You will handle tools and equipment and will need to be able to problem solve and be a team player. The successful candidate will become a qualified Fire Protection Engineer.

 

About the role:
• Trainee Fire Protection Engineer
• Full training provided including FIA or similar accredited course qualifications
• Working alongside senior engineers
• Assisting in the installation, commissioning and repair of fire safety measures and solutions
• Salary dependent on work experience and qualifications
• Full time

Candidate requirements:
• GCSEs or equivalent in English and Math’s
• Demonstrate an interest in and a desire to pursue a career in Fire Safety
• Practical, adaptable and enthusiastic
• Ideally live near the Reading area, Berkshire, Oxfordshire or Surrey
• Flexible attitude towards learning and travelling
• Full, clean driving license
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.K

The salary band for the role is between £16,000 and £23,000
