Fire Safety for Manufacturing

RES provide a range of fire protection services for manufacturing facilities across the South of England.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing facilities by their very nature pose an increased risk of fire from production equipment, storage and processing so specialist knowledge is required to control these potentially hazardous environments.

There are stringent rules in place for premises which can be found in various legislation such as Building Regulations and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as well as British Standards and specific premises related guidance documents.

There are five main actions you need to take:

  1. Undertake and regularly review the premises Fire Risk Assessment.
  2. Install the necessary fire safety systems, equipment and measures.
  3. Train staff (and or provided information to occupiers) on the prevention of fire and in the premises fire procedures.
  4. Service and maintain all fire safety systems, equipment and measures at the relevant intervals to current British Standards.
  5. Keep a record of all of the premises fire safety related information and maintain a fire logbook for the premises.

We understand that each manufacturing environment will have its own unique challenges and requirements so if you manage a manufacturing facility, RES has the experience and know-how to service and maintain all of the premises fire safety systems and measures.

As a business owner or manager of a manufacturing facility, it is your responsibility to protect employees and visitors in the event of a fire. It is essential that the premises fire safety systems and measures are designed, installed and serviced to the applicable Regulations, Standards and the latest Guidance available.

Whether you need to service and maintain an existing fire detection and alarm system or repair or replace a fire safety system or your fire extinguishers need servicing or perhaps require advice regarding your premises fire risk assessment, RES is well placed to full fill your fire safety needs. All our work is tailored to our customer needs.

RES can also provide businesses with in-house fire safety training to meet their specific requirements.

Our team of experienced Engineers and Fire Safety Experts take great pride in their work and strive to provide the best possible service at all times.
