Fire Detection & Alarm Systems

Your Requirements

RES can design install and commission your new Fire Detection and Alarm System in accordance with the relevant British Standards, in order to comply with latest Fire Regulations. This may be a full new fire alarm system or modifications to an existing fire alarm system.

We work across a variety of sectors such as in educational premises, healthcare facilities, for hotels and leisure, in business premises and offices, in residential properties, retail establishments and also manufacturing facilities.

Design

The initial design stage will often require a site visit or service visit to assess and identify the requirements. An up-to-date Fire Risk Assessment will determine the relevant category needed for a Domestic or Non-Domestic premises.

There are a variety of system types such as conventional, analogue addressable, wireless, hybrid systems and aspirating smoke detection systems. We endeavour to offer advice to our customers on what is required to make a system compliant.

We provide a detailed written quotation, usually valid for 20 days. The quotation will specify the type of system being proposed and will itemise all the parts, labour and relevant British Standards.

Schedule

On approval of the quotation, we will schedule the works with you and order the necessary parts for your project.

Depending on the scale of the work, it can be completed in one phase, or be phased across a number of visits.

Installation

Our installation team will endeavour to work with as little disruption as possible.

All our engineers are BAFE registered, DBS registered and wear RES ID badges and uniforms.

RES are also BSI Kitemark Licenced Fire Alarm Installers

Wireless systems can often be favourable in terms of minimising disruption and reducing the impact on historical buildings. RES have an in-house wireless survey kit capability, available on request.

Commissioning

Once the install is completed, the install team will leave the site tidy and clean and will issue the relevant certifications in accordance with the British Standards.

A new Fire Detection and Alarm System will have a Zone Chart drawing produced, printed and mounted by RES next to the Fire Control Panel.

Similarly, RES will provide an Operations and Maintenance Manual. This will contain product data sheets, manuals, As-Fitted drawings, Zone Chart drawing, certificates, and other technical documentation. This is provided digitally on USB and will accompany your on-site Log Book.

An engineer will demonstrate the system to the Responsible Person at the premises and hand over the Log Book before leaving site.

Servicing & Maintenance

A walk list will be produced which will be available to an RES Engineer for the service visits in line with the relevant British Standards, thus ensuring the continuous operation and compliance of your fire detection and alarm system.

Assistance

Our engineers are on 24/7 Call out, should the Fire Detection and Alarm System go into fault or require attention.
