Established in 1985, RES (Reading Extinguisher Services) initially began servicing and maintaining portable fire protection and fire brigade equipment, expanded into fire safety systems and measures protecting people and property.

Our services have been developed and steadily grown from our company’s commitment to a BS EN ISO 9001 quality management system.

RES prides itself on continually striving to make complying with British Standards as straight forward and practical as possible for all our customers’ needs whilst minimising costs. We can design, supply, install, commission, service and maintain a wide range of fire safety systems and measures for all types of premises.

Our commitment to the quality of our workmanship and customer confidence in the services provided is demonstrated by the fire industry memberships we hold, such as Fire Industry Association, British Fire Consortium, Fire Protection Association, The Institute of Fire Safety Managers and the third-party accreditations we have achieved with BAFE schemes, the BS Kitemark, and CHAS. We are also a certificated company with the BMTRADA Q-Mark passive fire protection schemes.

RES are authorised distributors and installers of several leading UK fire safety equipment and product manufacturers.

Qualified Professional Service

As well as a dedicated office administration team, our directors, fire engineers and technicians are comprised of a highly trained, highly skilled, and experienced team of committed individuals across all our inspection, service and maintenance capabilities. Three engineers are members of the IFSM and industry specific training as well as regular CPD is undertaken.

RES can design, supply, install and commission a wide range of fire safety systems and measures protecting people and property in a range of sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Hotels & Leisure, Offices, Residential, Retail and Manufacturing.

Who's Who

RES Fire comprises of highly trained, highly skilled and experienced team of motivated individuals led by Johnny Adey (Managing Director), company directors and managers.

Our office team, led by Kate (Commercial Director) is supported by Denise (Credit Control), Jess (Accounts), Lisa, Sam and Shelley (Office Administration). Richard (Business Development Manager) is responsible for IT, business development, design and marketing.

Our service team, led by Mark (Service Manager) is supported by Robert (Scheduling), John (Sales Manager) with engineers Damian, Nick, Jamie, Matt, Ryan, Andy, Lee, Joshua, Matthew and Callum. Our engineers specialise in the servicing and maintenance of fire detection & alarm systems, smoke control systems, emergency lighting, fire hydrants, dry risers, fire safety signage & equipment, and extinguishing systems or are BAFE registered fire extinguisher technicians, several of whom are dual engineers covering both fire alarms and extinguishers.

Our technical team, led by Will (Projects Director) is supported by Jon (Founding Partner & Technical Director) and engineers, Mike (Minor Works Supervisor), Jack, Paul, Alfie, Anthony, Ben, and James (Passive Works Supervisor). Our engineers and technicians specialise in the installation and minor works of fire detection & alarm systems, smoke control systems, emergency lighting, fire door installations, maintenance and fire stopping.

Additional services such as fire safety training is provided by Steve. Fire alarm zone and fire plans are provided by our in house design team. Fire safety advice regarding the areas that our services cover is provided by Stephen (Founder & CEO) together with specialist consultants.
